Part 2 of this project takes us from the Barafu "Base Camp", at an altitude of around 15,000 ft., to the summit (19,340 ft.). Most climbers do this at night so they can see the sunrise at the peak, then descend during the morning. We climbed during the day in order to camp overnight in the crater.
